Since last July 21, in fact, the ECB can intervene at its discretion, dictating precise rules to governments both for the reduction of public debt and for other aspects concerning the reforms to be launched and implemented. I am not at all opposed to this new system, on the contrary I consider it useful in a complex phase. I would venture to say, however, that we are also under commissioner by the ECB. This is a sensational novelty because we will be judged not only by the European Union, but also by the European Central Bank, which will monitor our ability, for example, to launch the most significant reforms.
